BROWN RICE STUDIO is a fashion label that stands for conscious, sustainable as well as contemporary yet versatile fashion that promotes indigenous, eco-friendly, locally typical and culturally rooted textile production practices in India, with the aim of bringing them into our regular use.

 

Miriam Strehlau is a German fashion designer with many years of experience in India and traditional eco-clothing production. She is the creative driver and inspirer of the team that works closely with textile artisans within the production chain. Under her aegis, the label reflects her love and passion for natural textiles, indigenous craftsmanship and holistic fashion that is harmless, fair and sustainable for people and the environment.

As an avant-garde designer, re-thinking the way we consume fashion, I continue to work closely with Indian artisans and other partners in the production chain designing garments that are sustainable, ethical and conscious.
